The Houston Independent School District is committed to providing its students with the best opportunities for achieving academic success. However, parents are the first and most significant supporters of their child's educational experience. Therefore, HISD has partnered with internal and external providers to create, The Parent Prep Academy, a series of courses designed to strengthen families by developing life-long learners. Course offerings provide information and resources to parents that support their efforts to become empowered, engaged, and well as serve as advocates for their child's education.

The Parent Prep Academy provides:

• information and resources to assist parents in their child's achievement and success
• educational opportunities for parents for continuous learning, and
• skills development for parents to take on leadership roles in schools that will contribute to improved student achievement.
